Marine, Soldier Killed in Iraq; Two Previous Casualties Identified

March 15, 2007 – A soldier and a Marine died yesterday during operations in Iraq, military officials reported today, and the Defense Department has identified two previous casualties.
The Multinational Division West soldier died while conducting combat operations, and the Multinational Division West Marine died in a non-combat related incident, both in Iraq's Anbar province.

Both names are being withheld until the families are notified.

Meanwhile, the Defense Department released the names of a soldier and a Marine who died recently supporting U.S. operations in Iraq.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Douglas C. Stone, 49, of Taylorsville, Utah, died March 11 in Iraq of wounds suffered from a non-combat related incident.

His death is under investigation.

Marine Pfc. Angel Rosa, 21, of South Portland, Maine, died March 13 while conducting combat operations in Anbar province. Rosa was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
