The Department of Defense announced today the death of a
soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. 1st Class Matthew I. Leggett, 39, of Ruskin, Florida,
died Aug. 20, in Kabul, Afghanistan, of injuries received when he was engaged
by the enemy.
He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion,
XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
