The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Spartan Shield.

Spc. Jayson Reed Haven, 20, of Aiken, South Carolina, died May 25, 2023, at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, as the result of a non-combat vehicle rollover accident. The incident is under investigation. Spc. Haven was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment, 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Charleston, South Carolina. For more information about Spc. Haven, media may contact Maj.
