The Department of Defense announced today the death of a
soldier who was supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel.
Chief Warrant Officer Jacob M. Sims, 36, of Juneau, Alaska,
died Oct. 27 in Logar Province, Afghanistan, as a result of wounds sustained
when he was involved in a helicopter crash. He was assigned to 4th Battalion,
160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord,
Washington. The incident is under investigation.
