July 12, 2010 - Iraqi security forces arrested several terrorism suspects during recent combined operations with U.S. advisors in Iraq, military officials reported.
In Jalulah today, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected criminal while searching for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader who allegedly participated in numerous checkpoint attacks and kidnappings.
Also today, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors in western Baghdad arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader believed to be involved in the construction and facilitation of vehicle-borne bombs, along with a suspected criminal associate.
In Sadiyah yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested three suspected criminalswhile looking for a suspect who allegedly coordinates meetings for high-level al-Qaida in Iraq leaders.
Also yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors in Hawijah arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader allegedly involved in mortar, rocket and bombing attacks against Iraqi and coalition forces, along with two suspected criminal associates.
In northern Baghdad yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected Khataib Hizballah terrorist organization criminal associate while searching for a suspected member of the group who allegedly is responsible for planting roadside bombs.
In a July 10 operation in northern Baghdad, Iraqi forces arrested two suspected Khataib Hizballah criminal associates while searching for a suspected member of the group who allegedly is responsible for the facilitation of weapons transportation to central Iraq.
In Taji on July 10, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected criminal while searching for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader who allegedly is responsible for high-profile attacks in central Iraq.
