July 21, 2010 - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said this week's conference in Kabul, Afghanistan, where members of the global community gathered to support Afghan goals and policies, represents a milestone in a long and difficult journey.
"This conference makes it clear the world is with Afghanistan and the world stands in opposition to the common threat and the common enemy that stalks us all," Clinton said. "There will still be too many days when we wake up to news of violence, conflict, and loss of life. But we must not forget that not only are millions of Afghans working to lay the foundation for a better future, but tens of thousands of young men and women from across the world are as well."
