National UASI Homeland Security Conference

The 5th Annual National UASI Homeland Security Conference is to be held June 20-23, 2011 in San Francisco. Conference registration is now open at http://www.urbanareas.org/

The National Urban Areas Security Initiative Conference, Inc., in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Grant Programs Directorate, is hosting its 5th annual conference in San Francisco this June 20-23. The conference will include all preparedness grants under the Homeland Security Grant Program and will incorporate the DHS/FEMA/GPD After Action Conference.

FEMA's Grant Programs Directorate has indicated that registration and related travel costs will be a HSGP grant-eligible expense.
The theme for the 2011 conference is "Creating Capabilities through Regional Collaboration". The conference will provide an opportunity for stakeholders from all areas of homeland security and emergency preparedness to gather together and exchange important information to make our country safer. Our program will include general sessions provided by DHS and FEMA leadership and will offer seven programmatic tracks as follows:

1. Regional Collaboration
2. Communications and Information Sharing
3. Medical and Health Preparedness
4. Public/Private Partnerships
5. Community and Economic Resiliency
6. Program Management
7. FEMA Preparedness Programs

During the conference, federal, state, and local leaders and practitioners will discuss the latest issues in the Homeland Security Grant Program and look at the latest innovations and best practices in all related program and mission areas.
A "Call for Speakers" will be issued in the near future.
