The Department of Defense announced
today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Louis R. Torres, 23, of
Oberlin, Ohio, died Aug. 22, in San Antonio, Texas, of wounds suffered when he
encountered an enemy improvised explosive device, Aug. 6, in Kandahar,
Afghanistan. Torres was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd
Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
