Homeland Security Continues the Conversation



As part of the S&T National Conversation on Homeland Security Technology, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will hold two events in mid-March.

"Saving Lives: Reinventing Government R&D Through Wearable Tech," a workshop at South by Southwest Interactive in Austin, Texas, from 3:30 to 8 p.m., will focus on wearable technology and the Internet of Things, thinking differently about the role technology plays in saving lives and supporting public safety. On March 17, from 3 to 4 p.m. Pacific Time, "A Conversation on Preparing the Responder of the Future" will take place as a townhall meeting as part of the International Wireless Communications Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Discussion will focus on the integration of R&D planning with emerging and existing technologies to enhance first responder capabilities to meet evolving threats.
