Iraqi Forces Arrest 12 Terrorism Suspects

April 15, 2010 - Iraqi security forces arrested 11 suspected al-Qaida in Iraq members and associates today and another suspect yesterday during combined operations with U.S. advisors near Baghdad, military officials reported.

Iraqi soldiers and U.S. advisors searched a rural area northwest of Baghdad for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader believed to be the mastermind behind multiple vehicle-borne bombing attacks in the area. After preliminary questioning and examining evidence at the scene, Iraqi forces arrested 11 criminal associates of the wanted man.

Iraqi forces arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member yesterday during a combined security operation southeast of Baghdad.

Iraqi forces and U.S. advisors searched a building for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq affiliate who allegedly is responsible for numerous bomb attacks and several assassinations.

After preliminary questioning and examining the evidence at the scene, Iraqi forces identified and arrested the wanted man.
