The Department of Defense announced today the death of a
soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Pfc. Matthew H. Walker, 20, of Hillsboro, Missouri, died
June 5, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was
attacked by enemy fire.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry
Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell,
Kentucky.
