The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died in Al Asad, Iraq, on Sept. 30 of injuries suffered when their vehicle received small arms fire during security operations. Both soldiers were assigned to the National Guard's 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry, Iowa Falls, Iowa.
Killed were:
Staff Sgt. Scott E. Nisely, 48, of Marshalltown, Iowa
Spc. Kampha B. Sourivong, 20, of Iowa City, Iowa
