April 1, 2010 - Iraqi security forces yesterday arrested four suspected terrorists during a combined operation in southwestern Baghdad designed to capture a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader.
The wanted suspect is believed to have assisted in increasing the terrorist group's membership and paying its members to conduct attacks against the Iraqi government.
Preliminary questioning and evidence collected during the operation led Iraqi forces to arrest four criminal associates of the wanted man.
In other news from Iraq, a suspected terrorist was arrested March 26 by an element of the Iraqi Emergency Response Brigade during a combined security operation with U.S. advisors in Babil province.
The elite police force was operating under a court warrant charging the suspect with murder, forcing people from their homes, and planting roadside bombs targeting Iraqi army and police convoys.
