The Department of Defense announced
today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Spc. Gerardo Campos, 23, of
Miami, Fla., died June 2 in Maiwand, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked
his unit with small arms fire. He was
assigned to the 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade
Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
